Isang kwento pala ng local na kakilala ko why Sta.Cruz is a bit modern, somewhat 'richer' than the older western towns is because of mining..I was advised to next time check the old mines if its still there..

Yep, Marcopper had a mine in Sta. Cruz but I think they shut down only some years ago. They were shut down because of the pollutants they dumped in the river. Sad.
